HM PRESS STATEMENT
I express deep concern and anguish over the unfortunate incident at the St. Mary’s School, Panigaon, Nalbari District, in Assam on the Christmas Eve, where the peaceful observance of the Holy Festival of Christmas was disrupted by certain miscreants. Such acts go against the spirit is Secularisma, and have no place in our democratic framework; it must be condemned in the strongest terms.
Christmas is a time that reminds humanity of peace, goodwill, and compassion for all. Any attempt to disturb communal harmony and to create fear among worshippers is deeply distressing and unacceptable.
I appreciate and acknowledge the timely response and firm action taken by the Assam authorities in apprehending those involved. The rule of law must prevail, and those responsible should face appropriate legal consequences.
I appeal to people of all communities to uphold mutual respect, unity, and understanding. Let us continue to work together to ensure that peace, harmony, and the spirit of brotherhood remain the guiding principles of our region.
