Huge seizure of heroin
admin 26-Nov-2024 04:45 PMToday (26.11.2024) Mizoram Police made a press statement an mentioned that continuing theri relentless efforts in the fight against drugs, a team of Mizoram Police CID Special Branch intercepted two vehicles - one Bolero B/R MZ-04/A-9872 coming from Tlangsam Champhai via Kelkang, Biate, Keitum and one Pickup B/R MZ06-6021 (stationed in Aizawl and waiting for the Bolero) on the wee hours of this morning on 1:00 AM at Cheuva hills, Thuampui, Aizawl and seized 8.058 kgs. (664 soap cases) of orange powder suspected to be heroin, valued at Rs.2,41,74,000 in the local market.
Mizoram Police press statement mentioned that because of heroin he following three persons were arrested: 1. Lalrohnuna Fanai (33) s/o ST. Kapa of Tlangsam, Champhai 2. Tlanghmingthangi (43) d/o Hrangkianlova of Tlangsam Vengthlang, Champhai 3. Lalmuanzuala (24yrs.) s/o H. Bulliana (L) of Tlangsam, Champhai.
984 cartons of V- cigarettes and 955 cartons of Win cigarettes were used for concealment of the contrabands. The two vehicles along with four (4) phones from the possession of the three accused persons were also seized. Case is being registered at Special Narcotic Police Station. The seizure made this morning is believed to be the biggest seizure of heroin at one time in Mizoram.
